Testing Grounds perception testing booth
This workshop recreated a drawing perception technique from the 1940’s know as Flash Training . Flash Training is a unique vision training system developed during the second world war by the American Artist and Art instructor Hoyt L Sherman. His system was used to prepare aviators for combat – to increase the speed and accuracy of perception. After the war this system was modified to train art students to also become more efficient. Efficiency is good and so making art faster must be very good. You will be aware of shape image and text. Some which will be meaningful, some motivational and some just nonsense.
Remember, be efficient – and draw what you see, not what you know.
